Orkut 1 A Muslim challenged in Orkut to show one reference where in the Bible it is written that Jesus is God. John Wesley gave him 10. Later two more were added as bonus. You can add to these thoughts so that we can testify the truth by the testimony of the Holy Spirit (The Bible).

Muslim Brother (MB): "One came and said onto him. GOOD MASTER, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? "And JESUS said unto him, WHY CALLEST THOU ME GOOD? There is NONE GOOD BUT ONE THAT IS GOD….."       Matthew 19:16-17.

John Wesley (JW): Jesus was not denying that He is God rather was asking the young man whether he would acknowledge Him as God! In other words, Jesus was saying, "Only God alone is good, so when you are calling me good are you acknowledging me as God?"

You may not like this interpretation because it refutes your belief. But it is very much inline with other parts of the scripture where Jesus is declared as God. Further at many places Jesus allowed people to call Him "Master" (Mathew 12:38, 17:24, 22:16, 22:24). Jesus also called Himself "Good Shepherd" (John 10:11)!

MB: (a)"and Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is GIVEN unto me in heaven and in earth"  Matthew 28:18(b)"I can of mine self DO NOTHING: as i hear, I judge…"    John 5:30(c)"….I by the FINGER OF GOD cast out devils.."  Luke11:20

JW: In Godhead the three persons of the Trinity, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit compliment each other and glorify each other. When Jesus was depending on the Father for power it was because He "GAVE UP" His glory and power when He became a human being (Philippians 2:6-11). Jesus prayed in John 17:1 saying" Glorify your Son". Will God glorify any mortal who is inferior to Him? Jesus also prayed in verse 5 "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."  Jesus was not powerless, but He gave up power!

MB: And lifted up his eyes (towards heaven), and said, Father, I thank thee that THOU HAST HEARD ME. "And I know that THOU HEAREST ME ALWAYS:  but because of the people which standby I said (my supplication aloud), that THEY MAY BELIEVE that thou hast sent me." And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.  John11:41-43.Who then gave life back to Lazarus? The answer is "GOD!”For God heard the prayer of JESUS, AS "always!"

JW: Again you are taking the whole counsel of the scriptures. You are just considering bits that would support your argument rather than what God is speaking through the scriptures! Who gave life back to Lazarus? Your answer was "God". You are 100% right! Now read this. “Six days before the Passover, Jesus arrived at Bethany, where Lazarus lived, WHOM JESUS HAD RAISED FROM THE DEAD." John 12:1. You are rather proving my point than yours!!!

MB: Ye men of Israel (o Jews) hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, A MAN of approved of God (meaning of prophet) among you by miracles and wonders aid signs, which GOD DID BY HIM in he midst of you as ye yourselves also know."   Acts2:22

JW: Peter very much recognized that Jesus is the Lord. He also calls the Jews in the same chapter verse 36 to accept Christ as "Lord". ""Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." Later Peter calls himself as an Apostle of Jesus Christ (1Peter1:1) and exhorts, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord" 1 Peter 3:15. That’s Peter's testimony!!

1. “While we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” Titus2:13

 2. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

 3. “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” Col2:9

All the attributes of God are seen in Jesus Christ.

 4. Jesus was worshiped. Mat2:2, Mat2:8, Mat2:11, Mat14:33, Mat28:9, Mat28:17, Luke 24:52, John 9:38 Only God is worthy of worship. If Jesus is not God, He couldn’t have been worshiped.

 5. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John14:6 Jesus is the life! The source of all life!! The life giver (John3:16). Jesus is the way. Not Mohammad!!  No one goes to the Father except through Him!

 6. He is the Lord.  John13:13

7. He is pre-eminent and pre-existentJohn 8:58, Rev1:8

8. He is the Almighty"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Rev 1:8

 9. He is holy“Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." John 8:46,47
Mohammad had sins to confess and pray for forgiveness. But Jesus alone is sinless and is holy.

10. He is the creator of everything.Col2:16, John1:3

11. He forgave sins and gave enough proofs that He has the authority to do so. (If He is not God, how can He forgive sins which were not committed against Him? If He is God, He is absolutely right to forgive sins as all sins are primarily against the Law Maker-God.)
Mathew 9:2

12. As a corollary to the previous point, He assured certainty of salvation to anyone who believes in Him. (John 3:16).
Remember, neither Mohammed nor avatars or gurus of Hinduism ever gave any assurance of salvation to their followers.
Only Jesus can give as He is the True God.
