Is Islam Mentioned in the Bible? Probably Yes- Part 1

BibleWhen Christians point out that the references cited by Dawah preachers to show that Muhammad is mentioned in the Bible are wrongly interpreted, Islamic Dawah preachers ask: When Islam is the second largest religion and have impacted the world to a large extend, why it is that the Bible does not mention anything about it? A good question- we must admit. The answer of Sakshi Research Team is: Probably the Bible has mentioned about Islam but not in a way they would like to hear. Nevertheless we must share it.

In this series of articles, we will be looking at those passages in the Holy Bible which seems to forewarn about the Islamic doctrines. We will begin this series with the most important topic in theology – God himself.

The Quranic God Allah claims to be the same God who sent Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and other prophets (Surah 4:163 and Surah 21:7). Yet Allah denies trinity (Surah 4:171), deity of Jesus Christ (Surah 5:72-73) and historical death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Surah 4:157). In fact, Surah 112 seems to suggest Allah is neither the Father nor the Son.

Now let us look at a few Biblical passages to see whether there is anything like this was foretold.

Passage Number 1: Isaiah 14: 12-22:

How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, All of them, sleep in glory, Everyone in his own house; But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot. You will not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land and slain your people. The brood of evildoers shall never be named.

Points to Be Noted:

1. There is a spirit whose desire is to be the like the Most High (the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob)

2. This spirit had a big impact in the world kingdoms- he shook the kingdoms and made utter destruction among nations.

Remember even when Israel deviated from the only True God Jehovah, they thought that they are worshipping Jehovah. Or they were successfully misled into disbelief by showing another idol and calling it as the true God who redeemed them from the land of Egypt.

Exodus 32:4-5: “And he received [the gold] from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, "This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!" So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, "Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD."

1 Kings 12: 28: “Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!"

We have seen that there is a spirit that desires to be like the Most High. So a mere claim that “I am the God who sent prophets”, “I am the God who redeemed Israel from the land of Egypt” is not sufficient to establish the claim of being the one True God. Because there is a spirit whose motivation is to be like the Most High.

Now let us read a few other passages.

Passage Number 2: 2 Corinthians 11:2-3 “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted–you may well put up with it!

Points to Be Noted:

  1. As the serpent deceived Eve, people can be deceived by similar deception of doubting the Word of God
  2. Craftiness is expressed in preaching another Jesus (maybe the one who is not divine and did not die on the cross)
  3. It is expressed in preaching another spirit (This is not the Holy Spirit of the Bible who is the third person in Triune God)
  4. A different Gospel (we will be told that the Gospel of Jesus is different from the Gospel we are having)

Passage Number 3: 2 Corinthians 11:14: And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Point to Be Noted:

1. The deceiver may appear as an angel. Passage Number 4: Galatians 1: 8 “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”

Points to Be Noted:

  1. By saying ‘we’ Apostle Paul would have meant someone who claims of being an Apostle
  2. An Angel – the message will be given as ‘message  from an angel from heaven’
  3. But it is different gospe

l (note: problem with a few heretics in Galatians was denial of the sufficiency of crucifixion death of Jesus)

Passage Number 5: 1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”

Point to Be Noted:

1. The spirit of Anti Christ denies the Father and the Son.

Summary:

We have read about a spirit whose desire is to be like the Most High. Historically, people were misled by pointing to something else as the LORD who redeemed them out of Egypt. In the New Testament, we are forewarned that just as the serpent deceived Eve, someone may try to create doubt in us about the Word of God and preach another Jesus, another spirit and another Gospel. He may come in the form of an angel and/or an apostle. He will deny the Father and the Son.

Does it all sound familiar to your ears? It surely rings bell in our ears.

It is time we actively engage in reaching out to Muslim brothers and sisters with glorious Gospel of Jesus so that they maybe redeemed from coming doom that is also predicted.

  1. dear Bro., Isaiah 14:12-22 probably refers to lucifer the the right hand covering cherub on God’s throne before he falls with 1/3 of angels.and was change his name to satan (deciever). it cant be applied to islam. but the rise of islam was covered in prophetic view in the book of Daniel. anyway, islam’s claimed of genealogy can be traced in the lineage of ismael through abraham’s maidservant hagar. take note that God said “ismael will be blessed!” but the the promised Redeemer will be in the lineage of isaac! -email me brother

  2. In fact, we too think that Isaiah 14 probably refers to Lucifer who is now known as Satan. That is what are trying to prove too. It has always been the desire of satan to be like Most High. When he does that in history, he perfectly agrees with all the other “doctrines” that Bible predicted that ‘serpent may decevie” “satan may come in the form of angel of light” “who is a liar” or “anti-Christ”. We think the fall of Satan is important to keep in mind as he fell for the same reason he is trying to pretend himself now and will so in the future too.

When God said ismael will be blessed in Genesis it particularly refers to twelve princes that are recorded in Genesis itself. Covenant blessing is only through Isaac as you rightly noted.

  3. In the book ‘The True Religion’ page no. 13, of Dr. Bilal Philips (Phd. Theology), it is written:

” And behold! Allah will say:’O Jesus, the son of Mary! Did you say to men, worship me and my mother as gods besides Allah?’, He will say: ‘Glory to you, I could never say what I had no right (to say).'” Quran 5:116

May I ask the learned muslims, where in the Bible is it written that Mary is to be considered as god.

Have you ever heard any Christian make such a statement.

If your answer is no, then I appeal to you that you beware of the falsehood in the quran and accept the truth in the Holy Bible to attain eternal salvation.

  4. Agree with Sam, No where in the history of Christianity we have heard that Mary was considered as a part of the trinity.Neither can any Muslim prove that. When Muhammad stated this verse,it shows his lack of knowledge in scriptures.Secondly, if Allah is all-knowing why would he ask such question to Isa(Jesus)and will Jesus defend that.Jesus warned us against such prophets and told us the way to identity them that is through their fruits. Muhammad was a

    Narcissist

    Misogynist

    Rapist

    Pedophile

    Lecher

    Torturer

    Mass Murderer

    Cult Leader

    Assassin

    Terrorist

    Mad Man

    Looter

None of the muslim scholars can disprove any of the above accusations.

We shall pray to the Lord that our Muslim brothers may come to the knowledge of the truth.

  5. now this looks as though there was no law for Muhammad!!!

Lawlessness ruled him………then how can he be a true and righteous leader?!

Hope some good muslim bro would come forward to answer this, rather than muslims abusing us, atleast this time once.

  6. I am a Muslim myself, so let me not write anything of my own.

Just read what non-Muslims has to say about him (P.B.U.H)

The personality of Mohammad! It is most difficult to get into the truth of it. Only a glimpse of it I can catch. What a dramatic succession of picturesque scenes. There is Mohammad the Prophet, there is Mohammad the General; Mohammad the King; Mohammad the Warrior; Mohammad the Businessman; Mohammad the Preacher; Mohammad the Philosopher; Mohammad the Statesman; Mohammad the Orator; Mohammad the reformer; Mohammad the Refuge of orphans; Mohammad the Protector of slaves; Mohammad the Emancipator of women; Mohammad the Law-giver; Mohammad the Judge; Mohammad the Saint.

And more wonderful still is what the reverend Bosworth Smith remarks, “Head of the state as well as the Church, he was Caesar and Pope in one; but, he was pope without the pope’s claims, and Caesar without the legions of Caesar, without an standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue. If ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a right divine It was Mohammad, for he had all the power without instruments and without its support. He cared not for dressing of power. The simplicity of his private life was in keeping with his public life.”

  7. I liked the way Mohammed has tried to evade giving a response to my question.

I request some learned muslim to answer my above question.

In page no. 12 of my above mentioned book, Bilal Philips says,” Accordingly, if a man prays to a tree and his prayers are answered, it is not the tree which answers his prayers but God, who allows the circumstances prayed for to take place. One might say,”That is obvious.” However to tree worshippers, it might not be so……….”

Will the muslims accept what Bilal Philips said is correct as per the quran.

  8. Its a real shame for Christians that we their own books says to accept Islam as the truth, they won’t, because they are so used to live with their christian believes that they don’t see the truth of Islam.

  9. Christopher John has allegedly attributed some qualities to Mohammad(PBUH) with any proof.

Jesus rightly said in the bible

“Hearing they hear not. Seeing they see not. Neither they do understand”.

I think it applies to Christopher

  10. Awesome response to our Muslim brothers………..Praise The LORD

  11. Thanks for the information.
