BibleWhen Christians point out that the references cited by Dawah preachers to show that Muhammad is mentioned in the Bible are wrongly interpreted, Islamic Dawah preachers ask: When Islam is the second largest religion and have impacted the world to a large extend, why it is that the Bible does not mention anything about it? A good question- we must admit. The answer of Sakshi Research Team is: Probably the Bible has mentioned about Islam but not in a way they would like to hear. Nevertheless we must share it.

In this series of articles, we will be looking at those passages in the Holy Bible which seems to forewarn about the Islamic doctrines. We will begin this series with the most important topic in theology – God himself.

The Quranic God Allah claims to be the same God who sent Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and other prophets (Surah 4:163 and Surah 21:7). Yet Allah denies trinity (Surah 4:171), deity of Jesus Christ (Surah 5:72-73) and historical death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Surah 4:157). In fact, Surah 112 seems to suggest Allah is neither the Father nor the Son.

Now let us look at a few Biblical passages to see whether there is anything like this was foretold.

Passage Number 1: Isaiah 14: 12-22:

How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, and consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, All of them, sleep in glory, Everyone in his own house; But you are cast out of your grave Like an abominable branch, like the garment of those who are slain, Thrust through with a sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a corpse trodden underfoot. You will not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land and slain your people. The brood of evildoers shall never be named.

Points to Be Noted:

1. There is a spirit whose desire is to be the like the Most High (the True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob)

2. This spirit had a big impact in the world kingdoms- he shook the kingdoms and made utter destruction among nations.

Remember even when Israel deviated from the only True God Jehovah, they thought that they are worshipping Jehovah. Or they were successfully misled into disbelief by showing another idol and calling it as the true God who redeemed them from the land of Egypt.

Exodus 32:4-5: “And he received [the gold] from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, "This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!" So when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. And Aaron made a proclamation and said, "Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD."

1 Kings 12: 28: “Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!"

We have seen that there is a spirit that desires to be like the Most High. So a mere claim that “I am the God who sent prophets”, “I am the God who redeemed Israel from the land of Egypt” is not sufficient to establish the claim of being the one True God. Because there is a spirit whose motivation is to be like the Most High.

Now let us read a few other passages.

Passage Number 2: 2 Corinthians 11:2-3 “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted–you may well put up with it!

Points to Be Noted:

  1. As the serpent deceived Eve, people can be deceived by similar deception of doubting the Word of God
  2. Craftiness is expressed in preaching another Jesus (maybe the one who is not divine and did not die on the cross)
  3. It is expressed in preaching another spirit (This is not the Holy Spirit of the Bible who is the third person in Triune God)
  4. A different Gospel (we will be told that the Gospel of Jesus is different from the Gospel we are having)

Passage Number 3: 2 Corinthians 11:14: And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Point to Be Noted:

1. The deceiver may appear as an angel. Passage Number 4: Galatians 1: 8 “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”

Points to Be Noted:

  1. By saying ‘we’ Apostle Paul would have meant someone who claims of being an Apostle
  2. An Angel – the message will be given as ‘message  from an angel from heaven’
  3. But it is different gospe

l (note: problem with a few heretics in Galatians was denial of the sufficiency of crucifixion death of Jesus)

Passage Number 5: 1 John 2:22 “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”

Point to Be Noted:

1. The spirit of Anti Christ denies the Father and the Son.

Summary:

We have read about a spirit whose desire is to be like the Most High. Historically, people were misled by pointing to something else as the LORD who redeemed them out of Egypt. In the New Testament, we are forewarned that just as the serpent deceived Eve, someone may try to create doubt in us about the Word of God and preach another Jesus, another spirit and another Gospel. He may come in the form of an angel and/or an apostle. He will deny the Father and the Son.

Does it all sound familiar to your ears? It surely rings bell in our ears.

It is time we actively engage in reaching out to Muslim brothers and sisters with glorious Gospel of Jesus so that they maybe redeemed from coming doom that is also predicted.
