Dr. Zakir NaikSakshi Apologetics Network (SAN) approached Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) for an educative debate between Bro. Jerry Thomas and Janab Dr. Zakir Naik. However, citing laughable reasons, IRF evaded the debate invitations leaving SAN with no option except to do public rebuttals for all the allegations of Janab Dr. Zakir Naik. Following is the second part for Dr. Zakir Naik’s transcript- Similarities between Islam and Christianity and notes from Bro Jerry Thomas’s rebuttal given on July 31, 2010.  This is first in the series and God willing, all other videos of Dr. Zakir Naik will be similarly refuted in public and distributed to people to see the banality of Dr. Zakir Naik’s arguments.

Janab Dr. Zakir Naik: Section 2: 9:56- 13: 45 (Mission of Lord Jesus Christ)

As I mentioned, 25 prophets have been mentioned by name in the glorious Quran. But prophet said there were 124000 messengers sent on the earth. By name, only 25 are mentioned are in the glorious Quran. But all the messengers that came before the last messenger, Prophet Mohammad, they were sent only for that people and the complete message which they got was meant only for that particular time period.

10: 34

All the messengers who came before Prophet Mohammad were meant only for their people and the complete message was meant for a particular time period.

10:50

For example, Glorious Quran says in S 3: 49, that “We appoint Jesus as a messenger to Bani-Israel.” Jesus came as a messenger only to the people of Israel.

11:10

It is mentioned in the Bible, in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 10 verse 5 that Jesus tells to His disciples, “Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles.”

Who were the Gentiles? The non-Jews, the Hindus, the Muslims.

Jesus tells to His disciples, “Go ye not into the way of the Gentiles; into the city of Samaritans, shall ye not enter, but rather go into the house of the lost sheep of Israel.” Jesus told to the disciples to only go into the house of the children of Israel.

11: 52

Jesus Himself says in the Gospel of Matthew 15:24, “I have not been sent, but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

12:04

Jesus came as a messenger only for the Jews, only for the children of Israel, not for the whole mankind.

Quran says in Surah 33:40 that Mohammad is not the father of any of your sons, but is a messenger of Allah, and is the seal of all prophets. Allah is all-knowing and full of knowledge. Prophet Mohammad is the last and final messenger of Allah. Prophet Mohammad was not sent only for the Muslims or the Arabs.

12:57

Quran says in Surah 21:107 “We have sent thee not but as a mercy to every creature, as a mercy to all the world, as a mercy to the whole of mankind.

13:05-13:45

Quran says in surah 34:28, “We have sent thee as a universal messenger giving glad tidings and warning them against sin. But most of humanity yet does not know.” Prophet Mohammad was not sent only for the Muslims or the Arabs but to the whole of mankind.

Bro. Jerry Thomas Section 2: Refutation – on Limiting the Mission of Lord Jesus Christ

Mission of Christ:    Dr. Zakir Naik quotes Matthew 10:5 and Matthew 15: 24 and then argues that the ministry of Lord Jesus Christ was limited only to the children of Israel. But it is a very biased and selective reading of the Holy Bible.

Let us think about an example:

1n 2010, a guru says to his disciples- you preach only in Hyderabad.

In 2011, guru says – you can now focus on the surrounding areas.

In 2012, the same guru says- you can now preach in Andhra Pradesh.

Do we take the 2010 commandment and say that guru had sent his disciples only to Hyderabad? Only a biased person can say that. At a specific time or for a specific reason guru can restrict the mission to a particular place.

In Matthew 10:5   Lord Jesus Christ asked His disciples not to enter into the region of Samaritans.

In John 4: 1-42      Lord Jesus Christ and his disciples went to Samaria and stayed there for two days evangelizing them.

So, Matthew 10:5 was for a specific mission and not the mission of Lord Jesus Christ in general.

In Matthew 15: 24: Lord Jesus Christ said “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

In John 12: 22-32:   Apostles Andrew and Philip came to Lord Jesus Christ and said to Him that the Greeks, the Gentiles, had come to see Lord Jesus Christ. And then Lord Jesus Christ said:

Vs.22- “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.”

Vs.32- “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

The hour has come!!!

In other words, Matthew 15:24 was only for a specific time. The mission of the Messiah was for the whole world.

Matthew 25:31-32  Lord Jesus Christ said that He will be the King of ALL nations.

Matthew 28: 19      Lord Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to preach the Gospel to ALL nations.

Mark 14:9,    Lord Jesus Christ said that Gospel about Him will be preached in the whole world.

John 3:16,              Lord Jesus Christ said that He was sent for the whole world.

Same Standard?      Janab Dr. Zakir Naik quoted Surah 3:49 and said Lord Jesus Christ was appointed for the children of Israel and concluded that Lord Jesus Christ was sent only for the children of Israel.

Will Janab Dr. Zakir Naik apply the same standard to Hazarat Muhammad?

Surah 28: 46         Hazarat Muhammad was sent to the people who had no warners bef

ore.

Who were these people who had no warners before? Versus 46 and 47 very clearly says that it were the Arabs.

Further,

Surah 42:7Arabic Quran was sent to warn the mother of cities which according to Quran is Mecca.

Can I conclude that according to Quran, Hazarat Muhammad was sent only to the Arabs, specifically to Mecca?

No. Muslims would quote other verses and tell me that Mecca and Arabs were the starting point but there was intention of spreading it across the world.

It is the same with Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, now let us examine if Janab Dr. Zakir Naik at least has read his Quran properly.

Lord Jesus Christ:

Surah 19: 21 Lord Jesus Christ has been appointed a sign to mankind and mercy from Allah- a very similar verse which Janab Dr. Zakir quoted for Hazarat Muhammad.

Further, disciples of Lord Jesus Christ, according to Quran and its authoritative commentators were sent to the whole world.

Disciples of Jesus:

Surah 36: 14 speaks about three messengers. Tafsir attributed to Ibn Abbas, one of the greatest Islamic scholars identify these as disciples of Lord Jesus Christ preaching to the City of Antioch.

The History of Al-Tabari, Volume IV, The Ancient Kingdoms, pp. 167-168 also says that the disciples of Jesus Christ preached in the city of Antioch.

If disciples were sent only to the cities of Israel, what were they doing in the city of Antioch?  Last Prophet?  Janab Dr. Zakir Naik also claimed that Hazarat Muhammad was the last prophet. It is a mere claim that Quran makes but has no basis on the true word of God- the Holy Bible.

Messiah as the Seal:

Daniel 9: 24            “to seal up vision and prophecy.”  Prophet Daniel makes it clear that with Messiah the vision and prophecy is sealed. The Injil also agrees with it.

John 6:27             On him God the Father has placed HIS SEAL OF APPROVAL."

Mark 12:1-8-             after sending the servants His prophets, God the Father send His son last.

Luke 16: 16          Law and the prophets were until John.

Hebrews 1:1-2       God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.  So, it is very clear from both the Old Testament and New Testament that Messaiah is the seal of all prophets. Now, one may ask- but what about the New Testament prophets? The New Testament prophets are prophets of Messiah send by Messiah Himself and coming in the name of Messiah Himself.

The Holy Bible says:

Matthew 23:34     Therefore I AM SENDING YOU PROPHETS AND WISE MEN AND TEACHERS.

Ephesians 4:11-13   It was he (Christ) who gave some to be apostles, SOME TO BE PROPHETS, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers. Therefore anyone coming after Messiah claiming to be a prophet but denying the lordship of Messiah is a false prophet.
